About Barbara Lakin

A photographer’s eye combined with 18 years of experience in Hollywood makes Southern California native Barbara Lakin a standout among her peers.

Lakin began her career as a unit still photographer, where she learned firsthand how to manage the personalities and creative challenges of production shooting. She then took the helm of the photo department of Lucasfilm, where she worked for eight years before moving on to Sony Pictures Entertainment as Vice President of Photographic Services. During her ten-year stint at Sony - where she worked with such directors as Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay and producers Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Ian Bryce, among others - Lakin’s slate of photographers consistently surpassed the expectations of the studio publicity and advertising departments.

In 2002, Lakin began the latest phase of her successful career, founding Barbara Lakin Represents.

A Proud survivor of breast cancer originally diagnosed in 2005, Lakin is active in numerous fundraisers for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
